    TITLE: Purchasing Assistant  STATUS: Full Time

    LOCATION: Duluth, Georgia FLSA: Hourly / Non-Exempt

    DEPARTMENT: Distribution

    SUPERVISED BY: Purchasing Manager

    *This is an entry-level role.

    JOB DESCRIPTION: The role of Purchasing Administrator is to assist purchasing team in verifying the accuracy & fulfillment of purchase orders as well as vendor returns and to provide various data analysis and system maintenance related to the distribution team.

     

    JOB DUTIES:

    · Compare vendor acknowledgements to purchase orders to verify part numbers, quantities, prices and receipt date. Update all information on purchase orders in ERP system as needed.

    · Obtain tracking and shipping charges from vendors in order to accurately bill customers for direct shipped materials.

    · Work with receiving and vendors to resolve any shipping errors.

    · Work with Accounts Payable to resolve errors in billing by the vendor.

    · Assist in maintenance of database by deleting obsolete items and maintaining vendor templates.

    · Verify and maintain vendor core banks.

    · Follow up on returns to vendors to ensure proper resolution to include working with warehouse managers, vendor manager & accounts payable to resolve any discrepancies.

    · Position has long-term room for growth.

     

    SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

    · HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED

    · 1-2 YEARS OF ADMINISTRATIVE OR CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE

    · Focused on customer service with a passion for quality.

    · General knowledge of purchasing and inventory control systems.

    · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    · Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    · Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word and ERP systems.

    · Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    · Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment

    · Strong written and oral communication skills; interpersonal skills
