Job Description
Fintech startup in the SMB alternative lending space is seeking an experienced underwriter to join our team. We will be launching with a singular product - MCA = Merchant Cash Advance. Complete underwriting guidelines are already in place and this position is for underwriting files according to our guidelines.
Duties will include reviewing business, personal and financial data to determine eligibility. Pulling reports for applications that are missing data, assigning tasks based off of the review, reviewing completed tasks and seeing the file through the full underwriting process. Communicate with business development, accounting and client success regarding any potential issues or questions for certain applications.
Contribute to building and reviewing reports on all the advances in your pipeline. Contribute to continuously tweaking our guidelines according to the current state of the market.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidate should have a bachelors degree (or greater) preferably in finance along with at least two years of underwiring experience in an SMB alternative lending firm - also preferable if one of the products being underwritten was an MCA. Candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to review personal, business and financial data quickly and efficiently.
