    One of the largest flooring distributors in the US, that's been in business for over 140 years. Haines provides full service logistics to our customer base through two hub facilities and 10 warehouse facilities across the east coast and south.

    WE'RE ACTIVELY SEARCHING FOR AN OPERATIONS MANAGER TO LEAD OUR DOUGLASVILLE, GA DISTRIBUTION CENTER.

    Our Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for the Douglasville, GA distribution center. Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of shift leads, coaching and mentoring the warehouse team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength within the distribution center. The Operations Manager provides vision, support and management for the center. Ensure safety standards are met to eliminate injuries and create a safe work place for all employees. This position reports to the Director-Hub Operations.

    PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDES:

    • Plan and manage the daily activities of the Hub warehouse operations.
    • Direct the warehouse team of Receiving/Order Picking/Loading/Transportation on daily task completion.
    • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance to operations policies and procedures.
    • Develop strategies and act to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency in operations.
    • Responsible for planning and directing budgets, goals, and business objectives.
    • Responsible for overseeing and the coordination of training programs in conjunction with HR and Safety.
    • Responsible for planning and directing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
    • Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network.
    • Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience.
    • Sets goals and measures performance, provides feedback, and holds managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.
    • Responsible for all aspects of inventory control accuracy including proper storage and location flow.
    • Manage employee relations by partnering with HR.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    • Interface with all aspects of business units across Haines including customer service, sales and marketing, purchasing, distribution services and financial teams.
    • Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS ROLE:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
    • 8 - 10 years management experience.
    • Microsoft office computer products.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Understanding of warehouse design and supply chain logistics.
    • Experience in inventory control.
    • Experience with safety & OSHA regulations.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, occasional weekends

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field, MBA preferred
    • WMS system knowledge, AS400,
    • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
    • Transportation experience
