Here at JJ's Market in Arroyo Grande, we aim to providing our customers with a safe and enjoyable grocery experience. We are a neighborhood store that sets itself apart with our famous barbecue, tasty sandwiches, fresh and local produce, daily made dinner specials and our focus on customer service.

We carry everyday necessities and specialty items and want to provide each customer with an outstanding experience every time they shop with us. We are accepting applications and have multiple positions available in both part- and full-time work from the deli counter, to produce, stocking/inventory and front-end clerk/clerk’s assistant. We have listed some of the job duties below, and while experience is preferred, it is not required as we will train the right candidate. Pay is based on experience.

SERVICE DELI: Some duties include taking and filling sandwich orders, slicing meats and cheeses, stocking shelves etc. Equipment used includes scales, wrapping machine, slicer, fryer, oven, and proofer.

MEAT CUTTER: Some duties include cutting, weighing, wrapping and labeling items. Some equipment used includes knives, meat saw, grinder, tenderizer and wrapping station.

PRODUCE CLERK: Some duties include properly handling and merchandising fresh produce, writing orders, and helping customers in the department and the rest of the store.

CLERK/FRONT END: Some duties include accurately ringing up customers’ orders, proper handling of money, offering outstanding customer service, stocking, dusting, cleaning and carrying out customer purchases.

CLERK’S ASSISTANT/FRONT END: Some duties include offering outstanding customer service, stocking, dusting, cleaning floors/doors/carts, bagging groceries and carrying out customer purchases.
