    JLE Industries is proud to offer a 12-week paid internship through our FLEET Internship and Management Program. We invite junior/senior students and recent college graduates with a career focus on Leadership in the Transportation and Freight Brokering, to apply. This program will give students regular visibility to our Senior Leadership and Executive ranks. At the completion of the Internship or Management Program, our FLEET Participants are invited to present to our Executive Leadership teams on their experience, their learnings, and area for growth.

    The Freight and Logistics Intern (FLI) will play a crucial role in the overall “day-to-day” freight management and/or assigned shipping accounts. It is essential for the TI to garner customer trust, while complementing and supplementing the duties of a National Account Manager or Operations Coordinator. JLE's Freight and Logistics Internship Program provides interns the opportunity to learn practical Transportation Industry specific experience. At the completion of the 12 week internship, our interns are invited to meet with our Executive Leadership Teams and present their learnings.

    Essential Duties

    • Shipment tracking and tracing
    • Order entry
    • Scheduling loading and/or unloading appointments
    • Learn how to broker transportation shipments and securing carrier capacity
    • Gain understanding in to conducting spot pricing, rate negotiations, and handling related concerns
    • Billing – ensure required documents are obtained and customer invoicing requirements are met
    • Customer and/or carrier communications
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate degree program and in good standing at an accredited college or university.
    • Majoring in business, supply chain management, sales, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, or economics is preferred.
    • Interested in pursuing a career in logistics and/or sales.
    • Must be able to work 40 hours a week and complete the 12-week program.
    • Any class level is able to apply, Junior or Senior level preferred.
