  • Responsibilities

    The Finance & Accounting Assistant, supports the Chief Financial Officer in completing bookkeeping, clerical and accounting tasks. Duties include preparing company budgets, building and assessing financial reports and managing payroll processes.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate with Financial Managers and other team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks.
    • Train employees on the use of the Paycom system. Provide one-on-one system training when appropriate.
    • Maintain company ledgers and daily financial transactions.
    • Ensure payroll is processed with 100% accuracy.
    • Create financial documents such as bills, invoices, pay-orders, payables, receivables and purchase orders.
    • Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them.
    • Manage payroll activities and release salaries.
    • Coordinate and manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors and vendors.
    • Verify payments and deposits made through the company account and coordinate with the bank.
    • Create daily reports for management and team members.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
    • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
    • Extensive knowledge in financial systems such as Black Baud and MIP
    • Knowledge and experience as a user of the Paycom system a plus
    • Previous exposure to or experience in the education sector a plus.
    • Previous experience in banking a plus
    • Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Google Suite
    • Experience utilizing excel for imports and exports of data with ability to perform moderately complex tasks, such as working with large data sets, pivot tables and completing formulas.
    • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with demonstrated ability to work well under tight deadlines without compromising quality.
    • Actively demonstrates confidentiality, tact, and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and managing information of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.

    BENEFITS

As such, compensation for this role is competitive. The starting salary is $60,000 and up, commensurate with candidate's experience.
