    Creative Suitland Arts Center is a thriving multidisciplinary arts center in central Prince George's County. Through strong community engagement, Creative Suitland (CS) supports artists with time, space, and dollars to thrive.

    The Arts Program Assistant is an early-career arts program position that provides critical support to artists using Creative Suitland to create, teach, exhibit, and perform. Responsibilities include social media marketing and community outreach, Artist Partner Program coordination, and event support. The Arts Program Assistant joins a small, but mighty team of creative, passionate, and entrepreneurial arts professional to support the operations, visibility, and audience development of Creative Suitland. This position provides critical program support and effective communication with artists, community members and staff. The Arts Program Assistant reports to the Creative Suitland Director and is primarily an in-person, on site job.

    Primary Responsibilities include:

    a. Manage, inventory, and maintain the studios, equipment, materials, and art supplies

    b. Supervise and support volunteers and interns

    1. Social Media Curation and Community Engagement

    a. Curate and send the weekly e-newsletter to promote programs

    b. Assist with advertising endeavors including creation and handling of marketing materials (photo/video), social media, publications, and outreach for various programs

    c. Correspond with vendors and artists for various program or event-related opportunities

    d. Support the marketing and promotion of CS events and programs

    e. Manage the Creative Suitland public messages via email account and online platforms

    f. Respond to general inquiries via email and phone

    g. Conduct outreach activities

    1. Artist Partner Program Coordination

    a. Act as liaison to the Artist Partner Program, scheduling meeting dates and drafting space use contracts

    b. Monitor the Studio & Theater Space Use Inquiry Google Forms

    c. Respond to space use inquiries in a timely manner to secure contracts

    1. General Program Support

    a. Front Desk duties (answering phone calls, checking in guests, studio management, etc.)

    b. Event staff when scheduled (set-up/breakdown of CS events)

    c. Work closely with the Director and Program Coordinator on various projects, initiatives, and programs

    d. Perform data entry and record-keeping tasks related to various CS programming

    e. Serve as an engaged and involved team member, supportive of Creative Suitland's programs and initiatives

    f. Support and actively build an office culture dedicated to superior customer service that exceeds their expectations.

    g. Attend weekly team meetings; prepare reports for the team in a timely manner.

    h. Serve Creative Suitland in any capacity as needed for special events such as the monthly open mics, concerts, outdoor festivals, and the annual gala.

    i. Assume other responsibilities as assigned.

    1. Art Gallery Exhibition Coordinator

    a. Manage the “Call For Artists” process for the Creative Suitland Art Gallery, including artist application submission, jury member selection, artist selection and contracting of artists, exhibit content and gallery schedule for the year.

    b. Artist outreach and communication

    c. Plan and organize the acquisition and storage of all exhibits and related materials.

    d. Create related materials for all exhibits (website descriptions, press releases, program, artist statements, bios, pricing lists, artwork labels, etc.).

    e. Work closely with the CS Director to coordinate and implement art exhibitions and cultural events

    f. Manage CS Art Gallery website in collaboration with CS Director.

    g. Plan and host gallery tours for groups from the community.
