    Job Description

    JLM Strategic Talent Partners is currently looking for a Project Controls Specialist to be a part of a major transportation project in the Los Angeles area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a major project with a leading company in the industry. This position conducts work directly related to management or general business operations in an organization or functional area. The work requires advanced knowledge gained from a prolonged course of specialized instruction, experience, and expertise.

    RESPONSIBILITY

    • Assist in generating, checking, and analyzing data to ensure accuracy; maintain orderly records to provide audit trail data

    • Use the Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures to monitor data inflow in Project Controls systems

    • Develop cost reports format as required by internal or client requirements

    • Prepare and update weekly work plans

    • Assist in the preparation of specialty schedules, the project labor forecast, cash flows, Project Income Statements and performs profit recognition activities

    • Analyze current schedule/cost trends and identify potential problem areas

    • Assist with preparation of historical information

    • Assist with the review of Project Profit/Risk Analysis with management and provide status reporting

    • Assist in the change management process

    • Participate in internal and external audits

    • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines

    • Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines

    • Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff

    • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration or global equivalent in applicable field of study and
    • 6+ years of work-related experience
    • 4+ years of P6 experience
    • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences
    • Job related technical knowledge
    • Ability to learn and apply compliance knowledge
    • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
