Job Description
JLM Strategic Talent Partners is currently looking for a Project Controls Specialist to be a part of a major transportation project in the Los Angeles area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a major project with a leading company in the industry. This position conducts work directly related to management or general business operations in an organization or functional area. The work requires advanced knowledge gained from a prolonged course of specialized instruction, experience, and expertise.
RESPONSIBILITY
Assist in generating, checking, and analyzing data to ensure accuracy; maintain orderly records to provide audit trail data
Use the Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures to monitor data inflow in Project Controls systems
Develop cost reports format as required by internal or client requirements
Prepare and update weekly work plans
Assist in the preparation of specialty schedules, the project labor forecast, cash flows, Project Income Statements and performs profit recognition activities
Analyze current schedule/cost trends and identify potential problem areas
Assist with preparation of historical information
Assist with the review of Project Profit/Risk Analysis with management and provide status reporting
Assist in the change management process
Participate in internal and external audits
Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
