    The TECHNICAL PROCUREMENT ENGINEER will coordinate complex activities related to the purchase of technical equipment in the core process of plastic pipe manufacturing. Collaborate with other engineers on the team and plant personnel to develop guidelines and specifications. Work as a liaison and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure all procedures are being followed that equipment is qualified per typical U.S. and JM standards. Make sure vendors are fulfilling the terms of their contract with good influencing and negotiation skills.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Involve with other mechanical and electrical engineers in the creation of specification in plastic pipe extrusion and processing.
    • Develop guidelines to suppliers and report supplier’s detail fabrication, installation, trial plans to ensure equipment is manufactured to JM’s specification and typical U.S. standards.
    • Manage any adjustments to equipment needs and communicate to key stakeholders.
    • Evaluate equipment suppliers and negotiate purchasing agreements for equipment
    • Devise, implement and oversee procurement strategies to meet cost savings targets
    • Administer supplier and vendor contracts
    • Ensure that purchases comply with commercial, legal and contractual obligations
    • Coordinate with suppliers and JM’s manufacturing plants on logistics, technical support, start-up trial of purchased equipment

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Resolve issues addressed by Plants Maintenance and Headquarter Production department on equipment and product related issues, with Engineering team members

    • Work within Headquarter Engineering team for project design, schedule, and project implementation.

    • Interface with various plant personnel, suppliers, contractors, and other entities to support plant expansion and improvement efforts.

    • Travel to supplier facilities and JM plants up to 30% of the time on an as-required basis.

    • Perform other job-related duties as directed by head of department or other project managers
