Our law group is growing and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent clients in all areas of family law. You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. Responsibilities: • Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed • Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action Qualifications: • Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required • Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary • Member in good standing with the Georgia Bar Association • Minimum yearly billable requirement of 1,000 hrs. with bonus after 500 hrs. • 1- 2 Years of litigation experience Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000
