    Location: Groton, CT

    Position Type: Full-time

    Salary: $140k to $170k Plus top benefits and 401K

     

    Job Description:
    We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Ocean Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and deployment of advanced ocean systems, working on a variety of projects ranging from underwater sensing systems to complex electromechanical devices.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support System Engineering and Program Management in the design, fabrication, and execution of advanced ocean systems.
    • Design, analyze, and engineer advanced prototype systems through trade studies and analyses.
    • Fabricate, assemble, and test components and systems, including documentation and reporting of results.
    • Travel to assist in field testing and deployment of equipment, as well as acoustic testing and data analysis.
    • Contribute technical content for new proposals, products, and business development pursuits.
    • Work collaboratively as an individual contributor or as part of a remote team.

    Required Attributes and Skills:

    • Proficiency in system documentation and design tools (Magic Blocks, Cameo Systems Modeler, etc.).
    • Experience in hardware and software development, including specification, fabrication, integration, and testing.
    • Familiarity with engineering analysis tools (Mathcad, MATLAB, etc.).
    • Proficiency in mechanical and/or electrical design tools (Altium, Solidworks, etc.).
    • Knowledge of software programming languages (JAVA, C#, C++, Python).
    • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.

    Desired Attributes and Skills:

    • Demonstrated leadership experience on technical programs/projects.
    • Understanding of acoustic propagation and scattering for underwater and structural applications.
    • Experience with microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.).
    • Familiarity with 3D printing technologies and software.
    • Ability to read and create mechanical and/or electrical fabrication drawings.

    Education and Experience:

    • BS, MS, or PhD degree in Ocean Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
    • Professional experience beyond 7 years is desired, but not required in all circumstances.
