  • Responsibilities

    Production Planner is responsible for the creation and execution of scheduling activities, primarily focused on manufactured finished goods and sub-assemblies (WIP). Constant collaboration and communication with other area leaders, providing and ensuring efficient, effective, and standardized production schedules. In line with current forecasts, supply of materials, and available head count at time of production schedule.

     

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Understanding impact of planned production schedules on other areas: Operations, FSQA, Maintenance, Sanitation, Procurement, Shipping, Logistics, HR, and IT.
    • Working knowledge of MPR process through the tool of an ERP.
    • Analyze a variety of information and data from multiple departments and optimize the production schedule.
    • In line with inventory management policies
    • In line with inventory management policies, supports the PL in analyzing performance data and monitoring performance against set KPI’s and when necessary, contributes to the definition of the KPIs.
    • Proactively identify constraints to production plans and adjust as required.
      • Monitor production plant output and adjust schedule as required.
      • Contributes to the deployment of sustainable planning actions following inventory management guidelines and programs.
      • Develops production plans and schedules required to satisfy demand that are in line with planning strategies and inventory policies.
      • Analyze changes to sales & purchasing forecasts to determine impact on supply and anticipated production schedules.
      • Execution of time management with process ranges taking 48 hours to 10 months.
      • Process orientated with SI&OP with an emphasis on customer service levels.
      • Monitor manufactured FG service performance against planned production schedules.
      • Provide 1 day to 4 weeks projections for packaging and raw materials.
      • Identifying and understanding production seasonality, capacity, constraints, and opportunities.
      • Identifying slow moving and obsolete stock, and proactively managing and addressing with corresponding area leaders

      Qualifications:

      • 2 to 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
      • 2 to 5 years with an ERP or MRP environment.
      • 2 to 5 years in a role that was responsible for delivering production schedules.
      • Proficient in Excel.
      • Adherence to applicable Food Safety requirements.
      • Adherence to guidelines for Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness and Response.
      • Consistently uphold and promote the Company’s Values: Integrity, Passion, Pragmatism and Performance Orientation.
      • Continuously putting themselves in customers’ shoes (internal and external), understanding current needs, and anticipating future ones.
        • Understanding of Routings and how they impact the PL.
        • Understanding and maintaining production orders, with a sense of how it impacts MRP.
        • Understanding of the Supply Chain and all factors associated with the Supply Chain.
        • Understanding of BOM structures and sub-assembly process.
        • Focus on enforcing current process as well as able to create new ones when needed,
        • Great communication and coordination across multiple Teams to deliver results.
        • Communication, as early as possible, for upcoming issues, and
        • Comfortable to deliver fact-based information to deliver results.
        • Monitor production plan output and adjust based on historical performance.
        • Monitor slow/stagnant inventory and make proactive callouts to push product to customers, and or sell through secondary streams.
        • Ability to express information in an organized and logical manner to individuals and groups.
        • Ability to maintain desired inventory levels and manage roadblocks as they occur.
        • Ability to manage different facets of inventory besides manufactured finished goods.
        • Ability to build and maintain 1 to 3 week locked production schedule.
        • Ability to problem solve quickly and effectively.
        • Ability to build and maintain KPI information.
        • Ability to build and maintain planning reports to identify new items, new distribution, new component(s), etc.
        • Ability to house and maintain records of all master data and historical records associated with master data.
        • Ability to analyze large sets of data and breakdown into effective ways.
        • Ability to deliver inventory to meet forecasts.
        • Ability to analyze forecasts vs actuals and adapt moving forward.
        • Ability to effectively use IT applications such as MS Office to support and enhance job functions.
        • Key role in driving production schedules needs to achieve components, labor, and communication.
        • Key role in building and participating in SI&OP process.
        • Analyzing changes to Sales and Purchasing forecasts to determine impact on supply and properly adjust production schedules.
