    The Buyer/Planner is a key role within our strategic plan for Supply Chain management and as such is an onsite position at our R&D and high tech production site. Excellent organizational skills, a high sense of urgency, and exceptional critical thinking and analysis skills are a necessity.

    Key objectives will be achieving/improving/exceeding targeted customer service levels through production planning, managing inventory levels and accuracy, product life cycle management, and managing supply and demand within the Global Supply Chain.

     

    Position Responsibilities

    Procurement:

    • Plan and execute procurement of raw materials, services and supplies from domestic and international suppliers

    • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with internal manufacturing personnel and key external suppliers to ensure on-time delivery

    • Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials and components

    • Collaborate with German colleagues for long term planning and short-term material expedites

    • Provide regular forecasting to suppliers

    • Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in SAP

     

    Planning:

    • Work with a team of buyer/planners to optimize the production schedule of a diverse group of products across 8 manufacturing lines and 3 shifts.

    • Proactively report production capacity and material availability issues and provide swift resolution with root cause analysis.

    • Coordinate with all departments to ensure a smooth phase in and phase out process of new materials through the ECN/ECR process

    • Revise essential system planning data to ensure our SAP ERP system is effectively planning future requirements

    • Inventory Management: Support reporting, inventory parameters, counting, reduction, safety stock percentage measurements, and Product Life Cycle management

    • Provide analytical support and operational analysis for the organization

    • Complete special projects and other assignments as requested

    • Customer OTD

    • Supplier OTD

    • Material Shortages

     

    Candidate Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business - equivalent professional experience will be considered.
    • 1-3 years Supply Chain experience (planning and/or procurement)
    • Team player with strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)
    • Ability to independently establish and develop beneficial internal and external relationships
    • Self-starter that can work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
    • Experience supporting component needs of manufacturing operations with complex assemblies is preferred
    • Working knowledge of an ERP system - SAP preferred
    • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
    • Ability to perform a total cost analysis
    • Effective supplier relationship management and negotiation skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel reporting and analysis
    • Domestic & International travel 5-10% per year
