Buyer/Planner

The Buyer/Planner is a key role within our strategic plan for Supply Chain management and as such is an onsite position at our R&D and high tech production site. Excellent organizational skills, a high sense of urgency, and exceptional critical thinking and analysis skills are a necessity.
Key objectives will be achieving/improving/exceeding targeted customer service levels through production planning, managing inventory levels and accuracy, product life cycle management, and managing supply and demand within the Global Supply Chain.
Position Responsibilities
Procurement:
Plan and execute procurement of raw materials, services and supplies from domestic and international suppliers
Maintain strong working relationships and communications with internal manufacturing personnel and key external suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials and components
Collaborate with German colleagues for long term planning and short-term material expedites
Provide regular forecasting to suppliers
Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in SAP
Planning:
Work with a team of buyer/planners to optimize the production schedule of a diverse group of products across 8 manufacturing lines and 3 shifts.
Proactively report production capacity and material availability issues and provide swift resolution with root cause analysis.
Coordinate with all departments to ensure a smooth phase in and phase out process of new materials through the ECN/ECR process
Revise essential system planning data to ensure our SAP ERP system is effectively planning future requirements
Inventory Management: Support reporting, inventory parameters, counting, reduction, safety stock percentage measurements, and Product Life Cycle management
Provide analytical support and operational analysis for the organization
Complete special projects and other assignments as requested
