On demand position available for Data Center Operations technician for cable connectivity ,equipment installation and trouble shooting in Live data center setting.
Technicians must be skilled in one or more of the following fields: network cabling, IT equipment rack and stack, Troubleshooting equipment, cabling and power connections to equipment.
Must be able to communicate clearly and have understanding of how to execute scope of work efficiently.
Must have driver's license and reliable vehicle or reliable means to travel to site in Ashburn VA.
Experience 2- 10 years is required.
Candidate must have experience in DC Operations to execute cabling requirements, providing remote hands, communicating with remote engineers during trouble shooting efforts, troubleshooting cabling to servers, switches, firewalls, routers, etc.
Must be able lift server equipment for racking.
Must have the ability to communicate results of trouble shooting efforts.
Must have experience extending Fiber optic circuits and Ethernet cable circuits.
Must have a light meter to verify light levels on fiber optics.
Must be reliable and willing to work mostly evenings( 2nd shift) and some weekends.
Must be able to work independently to execute a work ticket in DC.
Must be flexible as there is no set schedule for this position, although all work is in the evenings M-F and Saturday, Sunday morning on occasion.
The ability to replace DIMMs and Configure ILO, IPMI and IP is a bonus.
Job description:
DC technician on demand on second shift 1-3 nights per week. There is some flexibility in this position for the right candidate. This is a good second income that will not be time consuming to any ones evening. Hours are from about 6-10pm most nights, with some flexibility.
