JSM is a growing local property management company seeking a skilled full-time painter with strong experience in drywall finishing to join our team in Champaign, IL.

This position is primarily responsible for the completion of all commercial and residential painting and drywall projects as part of our Painting department. The essential job functions are listed below:

• Complete daily and long-term painting and drywall projects. This includes but is not limited to measuring and preparing panels, hanging, and fastening panels, sanding, mudding, taping, and smoothing surfaces.
• Assist with the installation and repair of drywall in both commercial and residential properties.
• Prepare all locations and materials for drywalling or painting functions
• Assist with material inventory for specific projects
• Operate, maintain, and clean various power and manual equipment and tools aiding in the completion of drywalling or painting projects
• Communicate effectively with other departments to complete tasks in an efficient and organized manner
• Requires periodic availability after hours and is required to work during elevated times for the department

What you’ll bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Valid driver’s license - driving is a requirement of the position
• Thorough understanding of painting and drywall methods, materials, and equipment
• Must have strong experience in drywall installation and finishing
• Must be comfortable with heights and ladders. Able to safely climb and work on ladders that are 6 or more feet from the ground
