    Job Description

    • Maintains the appearance of the Chef Garden and working areas in a clean and orderly manner, including pruning, drip irrigation, etc. 
    • Leads and develops garden tours and demonstrations in the gardens
    • Directs daily planting harvesting needs, as well as seasonal fruit harvesting (non-wine grape related)
    • Hires and develops Farmstead & Chef Garden team members
    • Maintains garden checklist, and ensures work, as assigned, get completed
    • Walks garden at beginning, throughout the day and end of day to check for weeds, litter, tripping hazards, and other items as assigned by management
    • Develops budgeted/annual farming costs and master planting schedule
    • Manages service log tasks, tracks progress and reports statuses on the various assignments
    • Assist with projects, including improvements to public area setup or new hospitality services or spaces
    • Participates in departmental or division meetings
    • Works to secure vendor agreements as directed
    • Collaborates with culinary team to produce garden related give-a-ways
    • Cuts flowers when applicable for cutting vases as related to the Restaurant and INN
    • Ensures serviceability of all farmstead equipment such as fleet vehicles and tools
    • Follows all company policies and works in a safe and efficient manner
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must possess a valid license with an acceptable driving record
    • Fruit tree pruning and harvesting practices
    • Food Handlers Card, such as Serve Safe Certification, or be willing to obtain upon employment if necessary
    • Advanced sanitary training, and knowledge or cleaning practices – including to the level of food handling specifications
    • Must have some basic understanding of facility maintenance
    • Must have experience in managing an edible garden (plant/rotation/harvesting of crops)
    • Must be self-motived and have Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
    • Ability to be a leader, and work independently and in teams
    • COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption

    Pay Range: $65,000 - $70,000. Final compensation dependant on skills and experience.
