    Job Description

    • Provides direction and leadership to hospitality employees by effectively communicating and enforcing company policies and procedures, department operations, and partnering with other departments to develop and promote the Landmark / JUSTIN brand image and products
    • Conduct tours, barrel tastings and high-end guest experiences and tastings as well as Virtual Tastings
    • Design or update the tour programs/service flows and pricing
    • Stay up to date on industry trends, providing competitive insight and recommendations for continuous improvement, ingenuity and innovation to senior leadership
    • Position also will involve floor time in our tasting room or restaurant, and other customer service activities
    • Maintain flow of operations in all areas, developing SOPs training guides and employee manuals
    • Supports department heads with annual reviews, employee counseling (if training related), hiring, performance management and employee safety
    • Supports tangential business units as needed – such as training sales team and writing wine tasting notes
    • Works with other Sommeliers to lead and support private tasting experiences
    • Develops and executes training and educational seminars (including content development)
    • Develops and manages the master Educational Chart and log - ensuring all staff pass created coursework and certifications as designated times
    • Informs staff of how portfolio wines compare to wines from other regions from around the world
    • Resolve guest concerns/complaints using good judgment and tact.
    • Hosts trade visits and VIPs (on or offsite) as needed
    • Facilitate and promote good communication between all departments (Hospitality, Marketing, Wine Society, Accounting, Production, Housekeeping, etc.)
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 4-5 years of hospitality sales and/or management experience
    • Bachelors or equivalent experience (preferably an education focus in hospitality/sales/management)
    • Level I Sommelier Required -- Level II (and/or CSW as company dictates) Required within first 12 months of employment with company sponsorship CWE preferred. Company may require successful completion within first 24 months of employment, unless otherwise directed
    • Prior experience developing up a service team, in a luxury setting
    • Proven knowledge of wine
    • Knowledge opening a new outlet or service location highly desirable
    • Experience in the wine industry (Sommelier on the floor, or regional sales required). Production or wine making experience for a recognized chain is preferred. If no production experience is present, then the willingness to gain this experience at JUSTIN (Cross training rotation) is required in first 24 months
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to people at all levels; ability to educate and serve as a mentor
    • Ability to present and perform trainings to a crowd (internal) or host large functions (Public speaking) - including virtual acumen
    • Proven experience in training, recruiting and hiring productive, team-based staff members
    • COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption

    Pay Range: $24.00 - $30.00 an hour, plus tips. Final compensation dependent on skills & experience.
