Summary: The Plastics Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of plastic manufacturing equipment. They will be in charge of equipment start-ups and shutdowns, as well as responding to and resolving any issues that may arise during production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following:
Ensure the proper start-up and shutdown of plastic manufacturing equipment.
Conduct thorough inspections and sign-off procedures to ensure quality control.
Verify that the setup and materials align with specifications and requirements.
Promptly address and resolve any problems or concerns raised by operators or through the monitoring system.
Effectively communicate with the incoming shift, providing updates on issues and potential problems.
Collaborate with engineering teams during sample runs and provide floor support as needed.
Guide and assist job setters in tool changes and sign off of job sets.
Actively participate in maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to health, safety, and environmental protocols.
Prepare auxiliary items required for production.
Perform tasks such as purging, mold cleaning, and tagging of last shot.
Maintain regular attendance to ensure timely completion of work.
Possess a strong background in plastics and injection molding.
Demonstrate knowledge of Quality Systems as described in the Quality System Manual and associated documents.
Comply with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 standards.

Education/Experience: Must possess a high school diploma and have previous experience in the automotive industry.
