Key Responsibilities:
- Create resources and documentation to quickly solve problems.
- Develop upgrades to control hardware and software to enhance efficiency of equipment.
- Analyze and understand specifications to ensure that equipment functionality meets standards.
- Modify control systems for process equipment to increase production output and decrease downtime while improving overall plant efficiency and reducing costs.
- Ensure newly commissioned equipment operates according to company standards.
- Program controls equipment and robots in accordance with company requirements.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal machine and equipment operation.
- Train maintenance technicians in equipment operation and troubleshooting.
- Maintain standards for new and current process equipment control systems.
- Repair and troubleshoot current and new process equipment control systems.
- Have a strong knowledge of machine safety, electrical safety, and machine guarding, with a high level of safety awareness (OSHA, NEC, and RIA).
- Communicate in a professional manner and maintain positive working relationships, even under difficult or high-pressure circumstances.
- Ability to obtain Lock Out Tag Out Certification.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in programming Allen Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens PLC/HMI software.
- Extensive knowledge of Industrial Networks. (Ethernet I/P, Device Net, Profibus, ControlNet.)
- Experience with Auto CAD Electrical, including developing schematics, panel layout, and bill of materials.
- Expertise in VFD and Servo drive systems.
- Thorough understanding of power distribution as it applies to machine controls.
- Proficient in the design and application of fluid power controls. (hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum).
- Expert knowledge of electro-mechanical control devices. (optical, inductive, capacitive sensors / contactors, relays, switches / power supplies and transformers / motors and motor starters.)
- Knowledge of Common Machine Guarding Devices. (Bumper Strips, Light Curtains, Area Scanners, etc.)
- Experience with vision systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and prints
- Support various manufacturing facilities as needed.
- Experience conducting risk assessment of equipment to determine compliance to code. (OSHA, NFPA, RIA)
- Expertise in electrical safety and machine guarding.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management.
- Ability to cope with stressful situations and maintain a professional and cooperative temperament.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
