Summary:
The Quality Assurance Engineer - Inspection, Compliance is primarily responsible for ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures as outlined in the QA Manual.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, monitor, and follow-up on required product testing.
- Assess and benchmark requirements to ensure product design, intent, function, and integrity.
- Identify and implement appropriate preventative quality assurance practices.
- Evaluate and measure performance against established requirements.
- Collaborate in the creation, updating, and maintenance of Quality Documentation, Customer Contact Reports, Customer Sort reports, Information Relating to Concerns, Procedures, etc.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement mistake-proofing measures for quality issues.
- Interface with customer representatives regarding non-conforming material/disposition, as well as internal/external supplier problem analysis and corrective action activities (8D, etc.)
- Support preparation and participation for customer surveys to obtain desired approvals.
- Develop criteria for visual standards systems to be used in manufacturing operations.
- Assist the Quality Manager in planning facilities improvements and capital equipment requirements.
- Follow all internal and OSHA-required safety procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate production and quality issues/concerns to employees and supervision when necessary.
- Maintain compliance with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.
- Input and maintain all quality-related activities on customer portals (scorecards, PPAP submissions/dates, etc).
- Log all internal/external concerns on the CATS matrix log.
- Attend all PDT's meetings as scheduled.
- Implement all documentation required for PSW customer approvals (e.g., PPAP Package).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience in inspecting automotive injection molding environments.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory role within Quality Assurance.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Systems and standards, including experience in QS9000, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, FEMA, QOS, and 8D Problem solving.
- Current training in metrology practices (e.g., caliper, micrometers, etc).
- Color acuity and familiarity with Macbeth Optiview software color system.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Direct working knowledge of general blueprint reading and ability to perform Gage R&R.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 requirements (Certified Internal Auditor).
- People-oriented with excellent interpersonal and writing skills.
- Experience with FCA, GM, Ford, Covisint Customer Portals is a must.
