Job Description

JOIN JACK LINK'S AS A LAW CLERK FOR SUMMER 2022! In this project-based clerkship, you will work closely within the legal team, gaining formal and informal training in contract review, litigation management, and business counseling. You will also team up with business partners to provide claim and insurance data as well as work on special projects.

This clerkship is based in downtown Minneapolis. 

Additionally, as part of our Summer Program, you will gain exposure across other departments including sales, operations, marketing, and information technology. Our program manager is also planning fun, interactive events as well as the opportunity to travel to our plants to learn about our manufacturing environment.

Projects may include the following: 

• LEGAL SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT AND IMPROVEMENT: Assist in assessing legal management processes and functions and work on solutions for streamlining internal legal systems.
• LITIGATION MANAGEMENT RESEARCH AND SUPPORT: Assist in-house counsel in managing company disputes, including legal research and litigation tracking.
• CONTRACT REVIEW PROCESS: Assist with contract renewal requests, extension requests, contract termination letters and Non-Disclosure Agreements.
• COMPLIANCE AUDITS: Work with a team on creating, implementing, and tracking document audits related to various compliance matters.
• LEGAL SUPPORT: Help maintain efficient legal filing and organizational correspondence, reports, and meeting materials. File business registrations and similar documents with appropriate state agencies. Provide claim and insurance data as requested from internal business partners as well as coordinate and perform activities for special projects as requested.

Qualifications

• 1st or 2nd year law student at an accredited law school
• Excellent academic credentials
• Passion for creative legal problem solving
• Ownership mentality that stresses accountability
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints 
• Demonstrated experiences as strong team player in a changing work environment 
• Strong verbal and written communications skills 
• Demonstrated basic knowledge of legal best practices
