Job Description
We are looking for a Safety Manager for our Plant located in Laurens, IA The Safety Manager is responsible for working with all team members in the organization to develop and maintain a world class safety organization, where safety is highly valued and safe behaviors are consistently applied, including all company injury prevention activities, general awareness campaigns, OSHA required compliance programs and other behavioral based safety programs as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Safety or related degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
· Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
· Experience with a Safety or Risk Management Information System is desirable. Bilingual English/Spanish is desirable.
· Previous experience in distribution and /warehouse highly desirable.
· Skills – Language/Communication/Mathematical/Reasoning
· Experience with workers comp claims management
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively on a phone and before customers and other employees. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret graphs and charts. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with conflict resolution
