Jackbox Games is best known for its rapidly expanding catalog of critically acclaimed party games including Quiplash, Drawful, Fibbage, You Don’t Know Jack and The Jackbox Party Packs (1-5).

We make party games where players interact with a game being displayed on a big screen using their phones or tablets as controllers. While our games are often played at home in small groups of 2-8 people, we also support large-scale games at events or via Twitch streaming where thousands of users can connect and interact.

We’re a small group (around 30 people) of very talented, funny, and creative individuals looking for a full-time Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Chicago-based team.

What’s the Job?

Everyone hates bugs in video games, right? At Jackbox Games, Quality Assurance Analysts are tasked with testing games to find defects and ensuring that those defects get resolved. However, it should be obvious that this position isn’t just about playing games; we want someone who is passionate about games, has an eye for detail, understands the intricacies of video game consoles, can creatively challenge edge cases in software, and, when issues are found, will accurately, thoroughly, and succinctly document them for the production team to resolve. In short, we want someone who can help us deliver the best possible product to our great fans.

In addition, our QA department is the front-line in customer support, so part of the job is fielding support requests and working with developers to get them resolved when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Discover and document game issues across multiple platforms
• Write clear and concise bug reports
• Work with the QA Manager to develop test plans
• Work closely with fellow QA team members to find and reliably reproduce game issues
• Efficiently regress bugs and verify fixes
• Capture game video for development team to review
• Respond to customer support requests in an efficient and courteous manner

Candidates Must…

• Have QA experience on a shipped video game
• Have experience working with bug tracking software (JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.)

And it would be nice if you also have…

• Proficiency with game-capture software programs
• Experience with all major video game consoles
• Experience (or interest in) running external focus-group style testing sessions
• Some basic scripting or programming experience
• Experience with customer support and/or community management
