    RESPONSIBILITIES

    In simplest terms, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management and growth of our client relationships, ensuring our clients get the maximum value out of our partnership and any scope of work. This person will lead, inspire and nurture a talented and diverse Client Advisory team across our clients and offices.

    Specifically, this position will be responsible for:

    Team Leadership

    • Lead a high-performing team whose environment, culture, capabilities, tools, processes, expectations and work style support Jackson Spalding's vision, values, business goals and clients.

    • Oversee talent management, development and processes of the 40+ Client Advisory team members, including the Practices of Multicultural, Healthcare, Sports, CSR, Facilitation, JS Marketing and JS Business Development.

    • Activate the various skillsets and services within the agency to meet client needs.

    • Motivate diverse leaders at all responsibility levels to deliver standout integrated marketing and public relations work.

    • Serve as a trusted advisor to the agency’s executive team and other leaders in strategic agency decision-making.

    • Model and teach relationship-building skills.

    Client Leadership

    Personally and through fellow members of the Client Advisory team:

    • Build and maintain client relationships with a deep customer service mentality.

    • Bring thought leadership and advise clients proactively with opportunities, industry trends, competitive landscape, and challenges in their marketplaces.

    • Ensure all work for clients is planned and delivered per client expectations.

    • Engage with and manage relationships, taking a leading role in negotiations, execution and implementation.

    Business Development

    • Cultivate relationships with new and existing clients.

    • Work with the Business Development team and agency subject-matter experts to develop proposals and budget estimates for new business opportunities and engage in other business development activity.

    • Proactively represent the agency externally, generate new business leads, participate or co-lead client pitches and close business to meet revenue goals.

    • Develop and present persuasive rationales for strategic approaches to clients and foster the same pitching skills in members of the Client Advisory team.

    Business Management

    • Develop clear and compelling strategic vision, annual business plans, success metrics and goals for the Client Advisory Discipline to drive profitable agency growth.

    • Ensure deliverables and work for clients is first-rate and highly competitive.

    • Lead the strategic analysis of clients’ lifecycle and key inflection points for renewal and growth.

    • Manage P&L for the Discipline collaborating with and reporting to the executive team and finance.

    REQUIREMENTS

    The ideal candidate has 15 years of progressive communication and marketing experience, with a minimum of 10 years leading people and teams. Required experience includes, but is not limited to:

    Mastery of client service skills including:

    • Strategic and consultative client management.

    • Concepting, executing and measuring integrated marketing communications plans and strategies.

    • Demonstrated results in building relationships to advance business outcomes.

    Strong business acumen including:

    • Experience developing and managing multimillion-dollar integrated marketing budgets.

    • In-depth understanding and experience with P&L management and metrics.

    Team leadership skills and experiences including:

    • Ability to advise or coach both internally and externally, applying the JS values and communicating with diplomacy and candor.

    • Optimizing diverse team skills and creating inclusive team dynamics across multiple locations.

    • Ability to understand, appreciate and develop meaningful relationships with people of various cultural backgrounds.

    • Deep experiences with collaborating and problem-solving effectively and quickly.

    Revenue-generation mastery including:

    • Experience with generating significant revenue growth for an organization in the marketing, digital, and communications industry or related field.

    • Proven presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal).

    This role may require intermittent travel when business travel resumes.

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred.
