Jackson Supply Company is a leading wholesale distributor of HVAC equipment and supplies.  We have locations throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas.  We are currently seeking to fill a Purchasing position at our Corporate Office located at 6655 Roxburgh Drive, Suite # 100, Houston, Texas 77041.

ENTRY LEVEL PURCHASING POSITION SUMMARY

The Entry Level Purchasing Agent is responsible for ordering stock inventory for all branch locations for his or her designated group of product lines.  The Purchasing Agent is responsible for maintaining adequate stock levels and managing those levels to ensure an efficient flow of inventory while working within budget and department guidelines. 

DUTIES

• Analyzing data to determine order quantity
• Manage and process purchase orders in compliance with corporate guidelines
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors
• Follow-up and expedite purchase orders
• Create a plan to minimize loss and prevent inventory from becoming aged
• Working closely with vendors and store managers to maximize product sales potential
• Performing intercompany audits including cycle counts and physical inventories
• Perform other duties as required

SKILLS AND QUANIFICATIONS

• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to solve practical problems and work under pressure
• Basic Microsoft Excel experience. 
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Strong organization skills
• Experience with ERP systems not required
• Experience with Eclipse E-term is desirable but not required
• Seeking motivated and eager to learn applicants

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to pass a drug screen
• Must be available for possible overtime
• Must be able to travel periodically
