Staff Attorney, Family And Victim Advocacy Unit
Jacksonville Area Legal Aid (JALA) seeks a Florida Bar-licensed attorney to be a zealous advocate in its Family and Victim Advocacy Unit located in our Jacksonville office. Candidate should have a minimum of 1 to 4 years of practice in marital and family law, including, but not limited to, dissolution of marriage, establishing and modifying child support, paternity, guardianship advocacy, and injunctions for protection. Candidate should also have experience working with victims of domestic violence, including survivors of sexual violence, stalking, dating violence, repeat violence, and cyberstalking. Candidate should be aware of theories of domestic violence and be able to handle clients experiencing trauma. Position may require a holistic representation of victims of violence in a variety of areas such as consumer, housing, employment, and other legal matters. Our lawyers and paralegals regularly serve on local and statewide committees, and our lawyers have gone on to become hearing officers, magistrates, judges, and administrative law judges. Salary/Benefits Salary commensurate with experience. Qualifications: • Member in good standing of The Florida Bar. • Minimum of 1 to 4 years of experience in marital and family law. • Familiarity with the Florida Family Law Rules of Civil Procedure. Compensation: $55,000+ DOE
