Position Summary: The position will support activities in any accounting area including budget & planning, general ledger and financial statement preparation and analysis, tax, cash management, accounts payable and plant accounting. This position is responsible for gathering, preparing, reporting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting financial and management information for use by management. Duties could include, but are not limited to, auditing, budgeting, cash & finance modeling, benchmark reporting, tax filings, recordation/reconciliation of regulatory accounting transactions, balancing and reconciliations to financials, accounts payable analysis or presentations, or miscellaneous plant accounting duties.
Position Responsibilities
- General Ledger, Budget, Financial Planning, Accounts Payable, Plant Accounting – duties may include journal voucher preparation, analysis, spreadsheet preparation, financial statement analysis, budget preparation, presentation and reporting.
- Maintain Accounting records in accordance with GAAP and utility accounting requirements.
- Support and perform monthly financial close through journal entry preparation and general ledger account analysis and reconciliation in accordance with company policy and procedure.
- Perform special projects utilizing LCEC business process mapping methodology, testing and validation of project data as it relates to Financial Accounting departmental functions.
- Cash and Treasury Management - duties may include cash projections, cash flow analysis, fund and rate analysis, debt management, investment analysis, reporting and presenting findings to management.
- Utilize various query tools and reports in the analysis and reporting of financial information. Information can include billing data, rates, taxes, benchmarks, monthly financials, regulatory filings, and preparation of annual department budgets, taxes, and governmental filings.
- Participate in and make recommendations for various projects, including system upgrades, process re-engineering, and financial audits.
- Perform audits and reviews of financial data to ensure proper processing and reporting.
- Accurate and timely reporting to LCEC Management of monthly financial statements, including monthly reports, journals and payment of invoices to include but not limited to various state and local taxes, invoicing, accruals, budget variances.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.

- Perform special projects and other duties as may be required from time to time to support the division and LCEC.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Accounting (Required) or
- Bachelor's Degree Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
Experience
- 1+ to 2 Years experience working in a professional level Accounting capacity (Required)
- 1+ to 2 Years experience in Excel spreadsheet business application (Required)
- 1+ to 2 Years experience working in a computerized accounting environment (Required)
