    Our beautifully re-imagined and newly renovated flagship showroom at 58th Street is searching for a passionate and innovative leader! The General Manager has overall responsibility for the operations and results of Waterworks largest showroom. This exciting role directs all aspects of the showroom’s financial performance, and will work with the company’s Sales Leadership to set and influence the short and long-term strategic direction for the showroom. In partnership with a Sales Manager, the Leader will develop, coach and lead a large sales team to achieve or exceed company goals for sales and profitability. The Showroom Leader will be the face of the brand in NYC, working to foster, cultivate, and grow relationships with trade clients in order to increased market share and to support and  serve the NYC high-end design industry.

     

    The General Manager will champion the Waterworks values with a fearless sales strategy, client-centric approach, integrity, and a passion for Waterworks products and brand.

    Showroom Management:

    • Full P&L responsibility for the showroom
    • Sets the tone for a high energy productive, client-focused selling team
    • Strategically reviews sales activities and results to ensure business success
    • Learns and executes organizational strategies to firmly position Waterworks as the industry leader for luxury bath and kitchen
    • Overall responsibility for all showroom operations as managed by Operations Specialist
    • Drive use of CRM and technology as sales tools to ensure business success
    • Manage all reporting for the showroom
    • Establish and maintain operational processes to uphold Waterworks brand image
    • Investigate and implement innovative ways to proactively market Waterworks products
    • Create and maintain showroom environment that delivers luxury experience to all our clients

     

    Account Management:

    • Strategically oversee the account management process, working with Sales Manager and directly with selling teams to ensure trade accounts are properly assigned and serviced
    • Ensure current account list is allocated appropriately and is effectively serviced in order to increase sales
    • Actively and consistently attend industry events to identify and secure new trade clients within the geography of the showroom
    • Develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with the trade community directly and through professional groups to increase Waterworks exposure and sales
    • Work closely with Sales Manager to guide and develop individual associate’s accounts and CRM activity to grow business and achieve goals

     

    Team Management:

    • Partners with Sales Managers to lead, coach and develop team in selling and marketing the Waterworks way
    • Work with Sales Manager to hold designated showroom associate accountable for project management, offering outstanding service, and follow through for our clients
    • Manages and develops cabinetry sales team
    • Coach team to stay current on product range and competitors’ offerings, and report findings to cross functional partners
    • Through strong leadership, re-fresh showroom culture of accountability and empowerment and be the champion for post-pandemic energy and growth
    • Role model, promote and ensure the Waterworks values are lived within the showroom
    • Liaison between Corporate and Showroom team, communicating Corporate news and initiatives to team
    • Empowers and supports team to resolve client issues and implement solutions that are in line with company values and business needs
    • Build strong and collaborative partnerships with NY Metro showroom leaders to maximize sales results, service levels and coverage

    Required Skills

    Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • 8+ years inside/outside sales experience in a showroom, retail or architectural design firm
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales management role within high end luxury brand environment
    • Experience managing a large team of Sales professionals
    • Fearless, sales centric approach to business and client relationships
    • Self-motivated team leader with excellent coaching and communication skills
    • Well connected within the luxury design trade in the NYC and surrounding areas
    • Ability to take charge, drive for results and make sound decisions quickly
    • Ability to negotiate, close deals and partner with sales teams to gain business
    • Ability to have honest and timely performance conversations with team members with professionalism and respect
    • Exceptional time management skills with ability to multi-task, and thrive in a busy and dynamic environment
    • Ability to inspire trust, integrity and professionalism
    • Innovative and strategic thinking
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications: working knowledge of CRM systems
    • Will require daily in-showroom presence, attendance at client meetings and industry events, and up to 20% travel to Waterworks headquarters, and other showroom locations
