    Lexicon Pharmaceuticals is currently recruiting for an agile, highly motivated Head of Marketing. This role can be based in our Woodlands, Texas or Basking Ridge, New Jersey locations.

     

    The Head of Marketing is responsible for leading the development of our strategic marketing plans and ensuring the tactical execution of these plans to ensure a best in class launch. In this role you will be responsible for leading our long-range brand planning, forecasting, and operational planning understanding the commercial landscape, identifying key customer opportunities, developing winning strategies and measurable tactical plans to execute. The position must lead all market promotional materials, establish our digital marketing platform, peer to peer, personal promotion and social media for HCPs and patients. The position leads development of all promotional messaging, claims, and materials that pull through clinical data contained in the approved product label. The position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements in all promotion via all channels to HCPs, patients, caregivers and pharmacies. This role will report to Lexicon’s Chief Commercial Officer.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT WILL NOT BE LIMITED TO:

    • Leading and developing our strategic marketing plans in preparation for launch of one of our key products. This includes understanding the customer types, market needs, competitive landscape and business intelligence in order to create and drive effective brand strategies.
    • The development and execution of overall Brand Plan for Lexicon . This includes strategic objective setting, identification of key customer behavior objectives, development of overall communication strategy. ownership of brand partner relationships.
    • Providing leadership for our brand team and brand positioning, message platform creation, creation of our value proposition, identification of barriers with plan of action to address, ongoing message tracking indicators Leading the development of business strategies related to Corporate Accounts , Pricing and Reimbursement, and Contracting for all customer segments maximizing business opportunities and profitability.
    • Leading the development of our promotional material creation, approval, and dissemination of approved materials, including management of external agencies.
    • Ensuring field force training on brand messaging and materials, collaboration, oversight, and interface with field and key customers.
    • The overall functional financial management, including budgeting, tracking, forecasting

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degree such as MBA, PharmD or a related field of study is preferred.
    • A minimum of 15 years pharmaceutical leadership experience, including marketing and product management, product promotions, and digital promotions.
    • Demonstrated understanding of cross functional pharmaceutical areas, including sales, marketing analytics, payer and sales training.
    • Ability to analyze complex data and information and develop key strategies and solutions to address issues.
    • Ability to anticipate and resolve complex problems or issues that adversely affect the success or attainment of business sales objectives. In addition, the ability to use an integrated approach to addressing customer needs to better understand how to deploy adequate resources to maximize ROI and future business opportunities.
    • Ability to manage external vendor relationships, including promotional and advertising agency management Ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environment
    • Ability to lead effectively in a highly matrixed cross function environment that spans sales, medical, clinical development and market analytics.
