We need a Legal Administrative Assistant with experience in personal injury law. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand-holding. This is a full-time job where you are expected to manage a caseload, so you absolutely must be able to work in the officefor 40 hours per week. Initial employment compensation will be based your experience, with opportunities for increases after that. Responsibilities: • Conduct legal research, when necessary, with guidance from attorneys and paralegals • Use daily time records to properly process client billing with support from the accounting department • Arrange travel, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events • Assist with the creation of various litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents a needed • Accept other administrative tasks as needed to assist the team and ensure the firm runs smoothly Qualifications: • Organizational skills and communication skills are necessary for this position • Must be able to type at least 50 WPM • At least 1-2 years of previous experience in a law firm setting performing administrative tasks • Ability to comfortably use all Microsoft Office products • Candidates must have worked with legal software, case management, and docketing programs Compensation: $20 to $30 hourly
