We’re looking for a Full Charge Tax Preparer to join our boutique accounting firm in Sherman Oaks, CA. The position is seasonal, with a significant time commitment during tax season and part-time flexible hours during the off-peak season.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The ability to take the information submitted by clients; communicate with them to adjust to tax preparation readiness; preparation of all tax returns: Individual, Corporate, S-Corp, LLC/Partnership, & Trusts.
Provide basic tax planning ideas to clients
Correspond with clients and tax authorities and analyze tax reporting agency notices
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in the work product
A strong work ethic, ability to work independently and manage multiple clients, a self-starter that will take responsibility for work performed and follow through on numerous projects
Ability to work under pressure, manage time and meet deadlines
Ability to communicate professionally with both clients and co-workers
Actively engage in client services, as needed, and complete client requests on a timely basis
Be available for clients on specific tax issues or questions when required and communicate to appropriate personnel when important tax or accounting developments affect our clients
Ability to work overtime and available schedule through tax season, including weekends
Advise clients based on demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in advanced skills related to tax preparation and accounting.
REQUIREMENTS
No degree or license required
5+ years of experience in tax preparation and accounting
Strong knowledge of Lacerte tax software
Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop software
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Strong knowledge of tax preparation; must have experience in Individual, Corporate, S-Corp, LLC/LLP Partnership; additional knowledge of Estate and Trust Tax returns a plus
Knowledge of Payroll Taxes is a big plus
Professional, well-organized, detail-oriented skillset.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Strong communication skills; must be open to active engagement with clients, such as daily conversations, client meetings, etc.
Must be able to work independently on client needs, but also contribute to overall team goals.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

WORK LOCATION: On-site, Sherman Oaks, One location
