We need a great young adult, MALE mentor/buddy for an 18 yr old with learning disabilities. He is a fun kid, but lacks desire and motivation for school or work. He likes legos, working out at vasa, cooking and video games. He is in need of companionship, direction, outings and learning. Duties would include finding creative ways to help him socialize, learning new skills and just going on field trips to have fun. Please send me letter about yourself and what skills you have that could help in this situation. We would also want to do a background check for safety reasons. He is smart but does not know how to apply himself. He just processes information slowly and sometimes incorrectly. We would love anyone that could teach him skills like basic auto-mechanics, leather making, wood building, carpentry, painting, or anything HANDS ON. That is how he learns best. $10-$15 an hour. The interview process would be having you come and hang out with him for an hour or so and see if your personalities mesh together and you can keep him excited and engaged in activities and conversations.
