We’re looking to hire a hard-working janitor who can maintain the cleanliness and safety of our building. You’ll be responsible for all cleaning duties, including vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing restrooms with soapy water, and shampooing carpets, in addition to maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and emptying trash. The ideal candidate has a great work ethic, experience with cleaning equipment and supplies, and takes pride in a job well done. Responsibilities: General Cleaning of Common Areas • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust hallways, lobbies, stairwells, and other shared spaces. • Wipe down surfaces, walls, doors, baseboards, and railings. • Clean and polish interior glass doors, mirrors, and windows in common areas. • Remove cobwebs from ceilings, light fixtures, and corners. • Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, elevator buttons, and handrails. • Spot clean spills, stains, and marks on floors and walls. • Maintain the cleanliness of entry mats and rugs. • Clean and sanitize elevator interiors, including walls, floors, and control panels. Trash & Recycling Removal • Empty trash and recycling bins in common areas. • Transport waste to designated disposal areas or dumpsters. Grounds & Exterior Upkeep • Pick up litter and debris around building entrances, walkways, and parking lots. • Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor amenities like patios, grills, and seating areas. Amenity Cleaning • Clean gyms, lounges, community rooms, mailrooms, and other shared facilities. • Wipe down fitness equipment and ensure spaces are presentable for residents. Window & Glass Care • Clean both interior and exterior windows in accessible areas. • Remove streaks, fingerprints, and smudges from all glass surfaces. Unit Cleaning • Perform full cleaning of vacant units prior to new resident move-ins. • Deep clean kitchens, bathrooms, floors, windows, and appliances. • Prepare and clean model units for leasing tours to ensure they are presentable. • Refresh units between showings if needed. Seasonal & Special Cleaning • Assist with snow removal or salting walkways in winter. • Pressure wash exterior areas as needed. Minor Maintenance Assistance • Assist the maintenance team with light tasks such as changing light bulbs or replacing air filters. Resident Interaction • Provide courteous and professional assistance when approached by residents. • Report resident concerns or complaints to management. Qualifications: • Strong working knowledge of cleaning supplies and cleaning equipment • 1+ years of experience as a janitor, cleaning crew member, or similar position • Possesses a strong work ethic and have high attention to detail • Must have a U.S. driver’s license or reliable transportation to and from the worksite • Great physical health and stamina Compensation: $15 - $17 hourly
