The Janitorial Technician 1 is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and general upkeep of all non-production areas within the cultivation facility. This role ensures that common areas, offices, breakrooms, restrooms, and support spaces are clean, sanitary, and presentable at all times. All technicians start at $18 per hour, with increases for grade 2 and 3.
Janitorial work supports the overall facility environment—it ensures a safe, professional, and compliant workspace for all team members.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Restroom & Breakroom Sanitation (PRIMARY FUNCTION)
• Clean and sanitize all restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas on a scheduled basis
• Restock supplies: soap, paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizer
• Ensure fixtures, surfaces, and floors are free of debris and sanitary at all times
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners
2. Floor Care & Maintenance
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors across all non-production areas
• Maintain corridors, walkways, entryways, and lobby areas
• Address spills and slip hazards immediately
• Ensure floor care equipment is maintained and stored properly
3. Office & Administrative Area Cleaning
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, desks, and workstations
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
• Vacuum carpeted areas and clean hard flooring
• Empty trash and maintain tidiness in shared office spaces
4. Waste Management & Disposal
• Collect and dispose of waste from all non-production areas
• Ensure proper separation of trash, recycling, and compostable materials
• Transport waste to designated disposal areas
• Maintain cleanliness of waste collection points and dumpster areas
5. Supply Inventory & Restocking
• Monitor cleaning supply levels and notify supervisor when restocking is needed
• Organize and maintain janitorial storage areas
• Ensure all cleaning products are properly labeled and stored
6. Exterior & Grounds Support
• Sweep entryways, sidewalks, and parking area walkways as assigned
• Remove litter and debris from facility exterior areas
• Support seasonal tasks such as pressure washing or window cleaning as directed
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES (CRITICAL)
• Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA-aligned practices
• Properly use required PPE at all times
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals and janitorial agents per SDS guidelines
• Immediately report: Hazards, Near misses, Injuries
• Place wet floor signs and safety barriers when performing floor care
• Maintain clean and hazard-free work areas (no slip, trip, or fall risks)
QUALITY & COMPLIANCE EXPECTATIONS
• Maintain consistent cleanliness standards across all assigned areas
• Follow all SOPs related to facility hygiene and janitorial procedures
• Ensure all work meets internal audit and regulatory standards
• Support compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
OPERATIONAL EXPECTATIONS
• Execute tasks according to daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules
• Maintain strong communication with the General Manager and Operations leadership
• Complete assigned areas within required timelines
• Demonstrate consistency, attention to detail, and accountability
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES
• Complete all required janitorial and safety checklists as assigned
• Report: Completed work, Issues or deficiencies, Equipment problems
• Notify supervisor of maintenance needs such as plumbing issues, broken fixtures, or lighting outages
• Ensure documentation is accurate and submitted on time

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to stand, walk, and work for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry materials up to 40 lbs as required
• Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and janitorial equipment
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks including bending, reaching, and kneeling
