    NEEDED: JANITOR

    LOCATION: Fayetteville, AR

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: Various public buildings

    SCHEDULE: (Flexibility required)

    • Part or Full-time
    • Day or night schedule

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers,
    • Maintain positive and effective working relationships with City employees,
    • Have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
    • Responsible for helping to maintain a clean and healthful environment for employees and citizens of the City of Fayetteville.
    • Empty trash containers.
    • Dust windowsills, blinds, horizontal and vertical surfaces and clean interior windows.
    • Test new cleaning supplies for effectiveness.
    • Clean interior and exterior glass.
    • Sweep, mop and vacuum floors, including under furniture.
    • Replace burned out lights.
    • Spot clean walls.
    • Buff floors as needed.
    • Clean parking lots.
    • Clean restrooms and ensure supplies are readily available.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or GED is required and one year of related experience.
    • Must successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses and any offense under A.C.A. 21-15-103.
    • Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
    • Must have the ability to operate general cleaning equipment as well as floor buffer.
    • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
    • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
    • Vision abilities to perform essential functions.
    • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.
