WAGE: $18.25-19.00 per Hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
• Independently and with minimum supervision, the janitorial lead worker models exemplary behavior and provides the day-to-day oversight of work performed by, and the safety of, janitors and clients assigned to a janitorial crew.
• Assists manager, coordinator, and other lead workers to provide adequate coverage and ensure all contractual requirements are met.
• Performs other assigned tasks to ensure the quality of all work performed. Responsible for input to janitorial supervisor (primarily) and operations manager on matters regarding site quality issues, overtime reduction, compliance with contractual obligations, employee accountability, and other matters as requested.

5\. Physical ability to bend, twist, climbs stairs, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead. Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs.

8\. Physical ability to operate various types of janitorial equipment.
9\. Ability to service multiple buildings, set alarms, and ensure facilities are secured nightly.
10\. Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and proof of current vehicle insurance.

12\. Ability to actively participate in team development and team-oriented processes, and motivate others to do so as well.
13\. Leads and maintains cleaning throughout the facility with other janitors under their leadership.
REQUIREMENTS
1\. A minimum of 1-year experience in general janitorial services.
2\. High school graduate or equivalent.
3\. Experience working with persons with disabilities in a vocational setting.
4\. Prior Lead of Shift Experience working with 2-3 staff members.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1\. Completes assigned work in a timely manner.
2\. Communicates with the Lead Janitor or Supervisor when problem issues arise.
3\. Fills in as required to ensure adequate coverage is available so that all work is accomplished.
4\. Ensures that all site janitorial closets are maintained in a neat and orderly manner. They are organized, and clean, all chemicals are properly labeled, and the equipment is in working condition.
5\. Is aware of SDS books and the information they contain
6\. Follows and completes janitorial assignments and checklists for each contract to ensure the highest level of janitorial service is provided.
7\. Ensures that all work performed meets operational standards with emphasis placed on maintaining consistent quality.
8\. Attends required janitorial training, and meetings and participates on teams as assigned
9\. Monitors supplies usage in order to assure cost-effectiveness.
10\. Ensures equipment is in working condition.
11\. Is aware of SDS books and the information they contain
12\. Fills in for other lead workers, janitors, or custodians as needed to ensure adequate coverage is available and all work is accomplished.
13\. Performs other related tasks as assigned.
14\. Performs regular daily cleaning duties to high industry standards
15\. Follow and Adhere to all TVW Employee Policies and SCS Custodial Rules of Conduct
16\. Routinely communicates with customers via log book entries and contacts the operations coordinator when problem issues arise.
17\. Performs Monthly Janitorial Quality Assurance Reports for the facility they service.
18\. Performs daily spot inspections at each site for quality assurance.
19\. Capable of Cleaning, Servicing and Maintaining a Janitorial Contract as a single janitor without a Lead onsite. Self-Driven to complete service and contract specifications on a nightly basis.
20\. Must be able to work independently of a lead janitor at a worksite completing service as a single janitor.
21\. Secure and lock all required doors and successfully disarm and arm the alarm in such a way as not to trigger false alarms.
22\. Performs daily spot inspections at each site for quality assurance.
23\. Complies with all local, State, and Federal regulations; including ADA, BOLI, FLSA, and OSHA.
24\. Models exemplary behavior.
25\. Provides assistance to all crew members to ensure all work is completed promptly.
26\. Ensures proper utilization of personnel (assignments) to ensure optimum efficiency.
27\. Assists workers with time-keeping skills including checking timesheets for accuracy.
28\. Deals with issues involving site security, specific tasks, and other situations that may occur on the crew.
29\. Trains, supports, and corrects janitors in proper janitorial techniques and cleaning procedures.
30\. Assists management in minimizing the use of overtime as well as the need to utilize temporary labor.
31\. Attends meetings and participates on teams/committees as assigned.
32\. Provides input for developing and coordinating workflow and processes to create integrated employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
33\. Assists management with timekeeping for crew members.
34\. Ensures that crew members are aware of SDS books and the information they contain.
35\. Ensures that checklists are followed for each contract (Q.A)
36\. Trains & Coaches new janitorial employees in proper cleaning techniques and practices at the facility they service.
37\. Completes quality Reports every month.
38\. Assess workers and provides written and verbal assessment reports in a timely manner.
