TITLE: EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
The maintenance mechanic must have a passion for machines, equipment, and teaching others how they work. Ability to work autonomously to balance day-to-day needs and preventative maintenance activities. You will be a fundamental member of the manufacturing team, collaborating with operations, quality, and leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to;
Responsible for ensuring equipment is ready for production start-up in timely manner.
Responsible for repairs on worn out or damaged equipment.
Perform needed equipment modification and fabrication.
Perform proper preventive maintenance on all equipment.
Must have a good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
Follow all safety rules and practices the plant.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Must be a team player and support production in anyway to achieve production goals.
Must be able to work independently to complete assign projects and regular PM schedules.
Must have good computer knowledge and able to create related document when needed.
Perform work, speeds, and efficiencies at company standards.
Develop and implement maintenance procedures for equipment.
Develop and implement innovations to improve efficiency, safety, up-time and reduce maintenance costs.
Will lubricate equipment with a thorough understanding of requirements for a variety of devices and applications.
Perform welding and cutting of metals.
Train personnel on autonomous maintenance and minor repairs and adjustments.
Completes work orders and Preventive Maintenance (PM) documentation.
Keep maintenance spaces (shop) and parts/equipment clean and organized.
Maintain storeroom inventory (INV).
Maintain equipment bill of material (BOM) as assigned.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as equipment manuals, safety rules, good manufacturing processes (GMP's) and general instructions.
Effective communication skills are required (written and oral).
Ability to work safely around/with automated and semi-automated machinery. performing all tasks in a safe manner, adhering to Company work rules.
Performs housekeeping and cleaning duties, according to Company SOP's before equipment is put back into production.
Perform all other work as required.
Qualifications and Requirements;
Minimum High school diploma or GED required.
5+ years of mechanical manufacturing experience required.
5+ years of maintenance experience required.
Prior experience working in a food manufacturing facility required.
Able to work with and around cleaning chemicals and perform all sanitation duties.
Welding and metal fabrication knowledge and ability required (MIG and TIG).
Must be able to read and comprehend mechanical drawings.
Must be able to read and understand a multimeter.
Strong knowledge of basic math skills is required.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
Good understanding of GMP and food safety concepts.
Must be able to comply with attendance policy.
Must possess computer skills and have aptitude to work with computers.
Able to work as part of a team.
Must be able to work safely around food allergens, primarily tree nuts.
Must be dependable, reliable and have good attendance.
Have a good attendance record and be able to comply with attendance policy.
Physical Demands:
Frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
Able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Hours are: Monday - Thursday 5:45am - 4:15pm, must be available to come in on some Fridays, on call.
