    Job Description

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION: If you are a thoughtful, caring person, and would like to make a difference in an individual's life, then we would like to hear from you. Jay Nolan Community Services is looking for an outgoing person with a sense of humor with a minimum of 1 year experience in providing Direct support to an individual whom has been diagnosed with Autism.

    The schedules vary; usually after school, early evenings, & an occasional Saturday or Sunday and may be flexible to accommodate a college student's schedule.

    Since the support to be provided is in the individual's home & community, the ideal candidate must be familiar with the individual's community resources & live in the general area.

    • We are looking for thoughtful, caring individuals with experience to support individuals diagnosed with Autism or other development disabilities.Experience can be personal, as a volunteer or work related

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES of the Community Peer Support Specialist are to teach all daily living skills, social interactions, self-help, & community safety & awareness skills.

    • You will be a good role model/mentor & provide positive encouragement to promote skill development in the home and community.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must pass a background check.

    • Thoughtful, caring, respectful & able to communicate (oral & written) effectively.

    • A valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, good driving record, reliable car & smart phone

    are required.

    *Have a high school diploma or GED.

    *Ability to handle physical aspects of job
