    PHASE I ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSOR - MINNEAPOLIS, MN

    WESTWOOD PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, INC.

     

    WESTWOOD PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, INC. is seeking a Phase I ESA Writer to join our team in our Minneapolis, MN office. Experience should include property due diligence consulting projects focused on commercial real estate and renewable energy markets. This position will serve a core support role in the environmental services group, interact with project design professionals, project managers, and periodically accompany senior staff to client meetings as appropriate.  Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Experience with commercial real estate transactions including environmental due diligence, environmental reviews, state and federal regulatory programs, field investigations, and an understanding of real estate lending and finance.
    • Excellent technical writing skills, time management, and organizational skills and the ability to independently perform environmental tasks on a variety of land and renewable energy projects.
    • Includes a mixture of technical writing and field work for site visits nationwide.
    • Report preparation in a team environment, performing Phase I ESA site walkovers and reporting, Phase II field screening and media sampling, participation in client meetings to support the planning, design, and approval of site improvements for land and renewable development projects.
    • Involve 25% periodic travel per month from the Minnetonka office.

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • The candidate must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, geology, environmental engineering or other earth sciences field.
    • 2-5 years of experience assessing various property types with progressive responsibility.
    • Solid working knowledge of ASTM 1527-13.
    • Excellent writing skills are a must along with the ability to compile reports electronically for delivery to the client.
    • Must be a self-starter, resourceful, and have the ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
    • Experience with Phase II ESAs including preparation of work plans, cleanup plans, field screening and collection of soil, groundwater and vapor samples including sub-slab vapor sampling.
    • Working knowledge of Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) regulatory and voluntary programs.

     

    BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Familiarity with wetland delineations, USACE 404 rules and waters of the US. 
    • Working knowledge of ArcGIS preferred
    • Current asbestos inspector, lead-based paint and/or radon sampling certifications

  • Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION:

    • Nursing Degree from accredited school of Nursing.

    • Licensed in the state of Kentucky or compact state.

    REQUIRED LICENSES: Registered Nurses 

    • BLS certification – American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider) required, must be current.

    • ACLS within 90 days of hire date or transfer to the department.

    • PALS preferred.
