    Halcyon Rehab is looking for a Full Time DIRECTOR OF REHABILITATION (PT/OT OR SLP CCC) at Lake Placid Health and Rehab Center, in Lake Placid, FL.

     

     

     

    DIRECTOR OF REHABILITATION candidate to be a Physical, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist CCC and have Director of Rehab experience in a Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility.

                                                                                  We have a 180 bed Long Term Care (LTC) Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) with a huge State of the Art Therapy Gym. With separate Physical & Occupational and Speech Gyms with separate documentation area. The gym has a Nintendo Wii, ACP, ACL Testing, Omni Cycle, Vital Stim, Parallel Bars and a separate Alzheimer’s unit.

     

    Laptops are available to therapists for real time documentation. Plus we have WiFi service available throughout the building.

     

     

     

    The facility has four courtyards throughout the facility to allow residents the opportunity enjoy the outdoors. Plus, a fifteen-passenger van to provide transportation, not only to scheduled doctors’ appointments, but also on activity outings like fishing, dining out, trips to the Highlands Little Theater and so on.

    The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for the complete management of the day to day operations within the assigned facility rehab department.  The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible to supervise therapy personnel, recruitment, interviewing, clinical education & training, clinical program implementation, compliance with regulatory and company policy and procedures, financial accountability, managing appropriate staffing levels to promote facility efficiency, customer service, facility meeting attendance, employee retention strategies, and direct patient care within one’s discipline.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    1. Responsible for the direct supervision and guidance of all therapy personnel in assigned facility which includes registered and licensed therapists, assistants and rehabilitation technicians.

    2. Develops and distributes daily rehab schedules to therapists with appropriate staffing levels in order to promote optimal patient care, efficient numbers and profitability within the rehab department.

    3. Provides direct patient care within assigned facility as determined by scheduling, size of department, and needs of the facility.

    4. Responsible for working with evaluating therapists to set appropriate treatment plans in the computer software system and schedule appropriate patient treatment plans to meet evaluation recommendations for all payer sources.

    5. Responsible for adhering to all regulatory standards as they pertain to patient treatment and delivery of care, and to ensure that all rehab needs are met for each patient.

    6. Responsible for ensuring that all documentation is completed within the minimum timeframe set by Halcyon Rehabilitation and that documentation accurately reflects the therapy services being provided.

    7. Performs a minimum of 4 chart audits monthly and develops action plans to improve documentation.  Reports audit results to Regional Director and/or Area Manager monthly.

    8. Meets and/or exceeds efficiency standards within the department.

    9. Responsible for timely and accurate review and approval of computerized time logs before submitting for payroll.

    10. Responsible for minimizing the use of overtime by strategizing with the rehab team and Regional Director/ Area Manager, as well as for receiving approval for overtime prior to the occurrence via approval by Regional Director/ Area Manager.

    11. Responsible for minimizing the use of per-diem and contract therapy hours by scheduling and strategic planning to promote decreased labor cost to enhance company profitability.

    12. Conducts employee performance reviews and provides employees with constructive feedback for improvement of skills as well as positive reinforcement for a job well done.

    13. Responsible for performing disciplinary action with employees as warranted in conjunction with immediate supervisor and with approval by Regional Director.

    14. Responsible for promoting company philosophy and consistently displaying professionalism and a positive attitude to rehab staff members as well as to all facility employees and management.

    15. Orients new team members to ensure compliance with company/facility policy and procedures.

    16. Completes billing specific month-end duties timely and accurately.

    17. Ensures an organized, neat and clean rehab department at all times to promote safety and excellent patient care/customer service.

    18. Establishes professional relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team within the facility, as well as with referral sources to promote the therapy department.

    19. Responsible for the financial operations of the rehab department and demonstrates the ability to understand key operational reports.

    20. Demonstrates the ability to be a good steward of the company by negotiating the best effort salaries within the therapy department.

    21. Responsible for training new staff members on the computer software system and ensuring passcodes are set for per-diem staff.

    22. Works with Area Manager and/or Regional Director to identify employees that have exhibited skills to be potential leaders within the organization.

    23. Assists Area Manager/Regional Director with new business leads that may arise.

    24. Identifies areas of personal professional growth with immediate supervisor.

    25. Performs other duties as directed or assigned.

     

    EXPOSURE RISK: The Director of Rehabilitation is at high risk for exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Regional Director of Rehabilitation and/or Area Manager

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS 

    1. Works in well-lit/ventilated office and therapy

    3. Must have the ability to travel by car or plane when necessary to attend meetings and training sessions, or to assist the Area Manager and/or Regional Director with territory specific duties. May include overnight

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION:  A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Occupational or Physical Therapy or a MS in Speech-Language Pathology.
