  • Responsibilities

    Cambridge has a career opportunity in El Salvador for an OEM-certified UH-1H Field Service Representative (T53-L-13B Turboshaft Engine Subject Matter Expert), to provide field level and intermediate maintenance assistance to El Salvadorian Air Force personnel for the maintenance and sustainment of all UH-1H helicopters assigned to the 1st Air Brigade, Ilopango Airbase, San Salvador, El Salvador.

    The FSR will assist 1st Air Brigade personnel in procedures for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting and performing scheduled and unscheduled repairs. The FSR will not perform any maintenance actions or aircraft/component repairs. The FSR will be responsible for ensuring and completing any UH-1H manufacturer required NDAs. The FSR will also provide technical assistance in supply procedures for procuring aircraft spares and repair of aircraft parts, inventory management, provisioning, distribution and methods for ordering materiel and spares. 

     

    The UH-1H FSR will perform the following specific duties:

    • Assist 1st Air Brigade personnel in the repair, service and replacement of UH-1H engine system and components, and in the performance of preventive maintenance. Provide over-the-shoulder instruction, guidance, mentoring, and technical assistance. Help investigate aircraft deficiencies and maintenance problems, and assist personnel to prevent recurrence.
    • Assist 1st Air Brigade personnel in the identifying and conducting proper procedures for inspections, testing, troubleshooting, servicing, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs.
    • Assist 1st Air Brigade personnel in identifying sources of repair of aircraft components that are beyond their repair capability. Assist 1st Air Brigade personnel in identifying tools, support equipment and test equipment required to perform maintenance on 1st Air Brigade UH-1H helicopters and in identifying and establishing maintenance management programs to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and safety of 1st Air Brigade maintenance personnel.
    • Read and interpret technical data.
    • Assist 1st Air Brigade personnel with operation of support equipment/test equipment used in the inspection, testing, troubleshooting, servicing and ground operation of 1st Air Brigade UH-1H helicopters.
    • Render over-the-shoulder technical assistance to resolve difficult or unusual maintenance problems.

    Required Skills

    Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements: 

    • Possess and maintain language proficiency level 3 for English and Latin American Spanish as defined by the US DoS language proficiency training (http://careers.state.gov/gateway/lang_prof_def.html)

    Required Experience

    Qualified candidates must meet or exceed the following experience requirements:

    • Have a minimum of eight years of experience in helicopter engine mechanics
    • Possess a valid FAA helicopter mechanics certificate with an Airframe & Power Plant rating (A&P) or equivalent
    • Have a minimum three years of experience on the UH-1H helicopter, preference given to candidates with greater 10 yrs experience
    • Preference for US Army UH1 Mechanic with power systems experience
    • Preference for candidates with experience in South America
    • Preference for highly technical, mature candidate who can work independently
    • Qualified candidates must be US Citizens with valid US Passport, able to obtain country visa and security clearance
