WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT
DEPARTMENT: Warehouse
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Warehouse Manager
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
To assist with all warehouse functions including shipping and receiving.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Assist with all warehouse operations and inventory management related activities. This will require learning Midwest’s product structure, warehouse layout, and the inventory software system used.
Perform shipping and receiving duties. This includes signing for, inspecting, and unpacking all incoming shipments/packages. Also includes shipping outbound packages with a specified carrier (SpeeDee, UPS, Fedex, USPS, or LTL).
Operate and maintain all warehouse equipment including forklift, pallet jack, pallets, pallet racking, and shelving.
Perform other duties, as assigned by the Manager including, but not limited to, organizing the warehouse, cycle counts, general maintenance and cleaning, delivering parts, etc.
Drive light duty vehicles in order to deliver and pick up materials and supplies.
Suggest improved methods and practices for the business operations when experience and common-sense dictates.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have high school education or higher.
Must be able to lift heavy objects (75lbs +).
Must be comfortable working on their feet for 8 hrs.
Must be organized, clean, and detailed.
Warehouse experience is preferred.
