    Job Description

    SUMMARY The Systems Engineer has the technical responsibility for the system. He develops system concepts and architectures for high-quality ground-based power supply systems for commercial and military applications, which are characterized by high reliability and efficiency and are operated in demanding environmental conditions. The Systems Engineer structures system requirements and translates them into component specifications. He is also responsible for the system integration and qualification and verifies compliance with customer requirements. The Systems Engineer works closely with international multi-disciplinary project teams. RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO):  Technical responsibility for the system including simulation, performance, and qualification  Derive specifications for electrical and electromechanical systems from customer requirements considering all applicable standards  Develop system concepts and architectures, break down system requirements to component level and define internal and external interfaces,  Present proposals and technical concepts to managers and customers, discuss requirements and solutions with customers  Interface with specialist departments such as Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Software Engineering  Coordinate the manufacturing of prototypes and test setups  Specify, plan, and execute development and qualification tests according to military or other applicable standards. Create test reports and documentation, verify compliance with requirements  Manage and work closely with development partners and suppliers; coordinate requirements and resolve any issues related to performance, fabrication, qualification and cost of components  Support proposal processes and project planning with technical expertise  Define test and manufacturing processes and design special tools and test set-ups; support transfer of complex designs from engineering to production  Perform research to promote design improvements and future generation products  Maintain professional skills and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks


    Key qualifications:

    REQUIREMENTS:  BSc or MSc degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required or equivalent industrial experience  Min. 3-5 years of relevant work experience  History of working with suppliers ensuring best solutions, quality, and timely delivery  Experience in designing generator systems or machines of comparable complexity  Ideally familiar with design, test, and qualification processes for military products  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, expresses thoughts and ideas in a clear and compelling manner  Personal initiative and the ability to work independently  Ability to think analytically, plan and prioritize activities, perform multiple overlapping tasks to meet deadlines  Profound knowledge in MS Office  Experience with SAP R3 desired  Ability to travel to domestically and internationally (5% – 10%)  Intellectual curiosity to understand and expand possibilities  Willingness to work in teams and move toward the best solutions  US Citizenship is required for this position PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to fulfil office workplace requirements. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands, to inspect products. Vision abilities are required to perform this job, including close vision.
