MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED. Some college desired. Minimum 3 years of related experience.
EXPERIENCE: Good working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Spanish desired. Good understanding of ERP. Prior purchasing experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Food manufacturing and/or food purchasing experience.
Ability to sit for long periods of time, utilizes both hands to manipulate keyboards and adding machines. Must be able to walk, bend, climb. Able to lift 60 lbs. Must be able to verbally communicate with internal staff as well as external sources. Must have the ability to make decisions in a high-paced environment. Detail oriented. Able to work weekends if necessary. Good attitude and attendance
DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Be able to perform and assist on all aspects of Buyer/ Planning responsibilities including assisting the Planning Office.
§ Support on the Purchase raw materials and other operating supplies and/or services in a timely manner to support the manufacturing of finished goods and new product development.
§ Help to coordinate with vendors to obtain information concerning product, negotiate price, ability of vendor to provide product or service and delivery date.
§ Assist to coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and other departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
§ Work with QA Department for requested supporting documentation from suppliers/vendors.
§ Work with suppliers/vendors to order and expedite product shipments and deliveries.
§ Work with ERP system to perform various data entry and data analysis tasks.
§ Help to maintain a supply chain program to plan and determine raw materials demands and required schedules.
§ Interface with shipping and receiving personnel to prepare and audit shipments, perform system transactions, and track materials deliveries/shipments.
§ Work with S/R scheduler regarding requested carrier delivery times.
§ Perform other duties as assign (required).
§ Assist with the development of Bill of Materials (BOM).
§ Basic knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software.
§ Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested
