Summary As a Research & Development Project Coordinator, you will bridge the worlds of coordination and innovation, helping us craft the next generation of exciting product experiences for Jeremiah’s Italian Ice. Reporting to our Director of R&D, you'll be a key team member behind our robust innovation pipeline. This role is not just about following the recipe; it's about infusing innovation, fun, and flavor into every scoop we serve. You'll be a key player in managing our R&D facility, orchestrating the daily operations with finesse, and staying focused on delivering projects against our innovation process.
Essential Functions
Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive projects forward.
Coordinate timelines, manage resources, and ensure that our R&D innovation center operates seamlessly.
Assist in the creation of new products, from initial concept to final formulation, through testing and documentation.
Partner with the R&D Director to develop and maintain comprehensive R&D documentation. Maintain records encompassing finished product specifications, raw and packaging materials specifications, recipe instructions, formulations, and cost analysis.
Demonstrate initiative by proactively maintaining, setting up, and efficiently breaking down testing equipment and the R&D facility.
Align your work with the strategic objectives of our innovation initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Research, Product Development, or a related field. • Bachelors or Associates Degree Preferred • Proven experience with project management, kitchen management, food science, or equivalent.
Skills • Must have attention to detail. • Must be able to work independently. • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written). • Must be creative and think outside the box. • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel, Power Point). • Must be proactive and have a passion for continuous learning. • Must have exceptional organizational skills. • Must have basic understanding of food safety regulations and standards to ensure that products meet the highest safety and quality standards.
Physical Demands • Ability to move throughout an office space and store (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time. • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists. • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear. • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders. • Ability to occasionally, regularly, frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds. • Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion. • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment. • Ability to travel via automobile for long periods of time.
