Pay: $15-$17 per hour, subject to qualifications/experience
Schedule: 20-25 hours/week - Flexible schedule
Statement of the Job
This part-time position encompasses the duties of an Assistant Bookkeeper, who will assist the Finance Manager in all bookkeeping related responsibilities. This individual will function in an administrative capacity maintaining the general ledger and performing related accounting functions, including the recording of all monetary transactions for the organization. It requires using computer software to keep track of incoming and outgoing money, as well as handling cash and checks. The Assistant Bookkeeper will also help prepare and deliver monthly and periodic reports. A typical day consists of relevant bookkeeping tasks such as updating financial records, compiling financial information, managing and balancing accounts, preparing checks for payroll and accounts payable, and filling out forms related to financial matters.
Essential Bookkeeping Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Finance Manager in handling changes to accounting books & balances accounts
Maintain bookkeeping records, copying and filing information as required
Daily accounts payable functions, ensuring bill and invoices are paid on time
Assisting in monthly closing
Preparation of monthly financial reports
Monthly analysis of actual to budget reports
Preparation and posting of journal entries to the general ledger
Preparation of general ledger and trial balance
Assisting in preparation of annual budgets
Maintenance of depreciation schedules
Knowledge, Skill, Abilities & Requirements
Must be a problem solver who is self-driven
Prior bookkeeping experience required
Strong organizational skills
Strong knowledge of Excel (Google Sheets) and Quickbooks
Strong oral/written communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail
