Jeweler
Experienced jeweler needed for a high end jewelry wholesale company. JB Star is a Well established, multi generational firm with long standing relationships across the top retailers in the country producing all categories of fine jewelry. Candidate must be quality conscious and have proven abilities in all areas of production.
The desired candidate should have 2 to 5 years' experience as a bench jeweler.
The person should have hands‑on, practical experience working at a jeweler's bench. In day-to-day terms, they should already be comfortable performing core jewelry tasks such as:
Soldering
Ring sizing
Polishing and finishing
Repairing broken pieces
Working with small hand tools and precision equipment
Additional Skills:
Knowledge of laser welding and torch techniques
Modern jewelry work often uses two approaches for joining metals:
Laser welding: a highly precise, low-heat method ideal for delicate work, stone-in jewelry repairs, and high-purity metals. The jeweler should know how to set up the machine, control energy settings, and weld cleanly without damaging surrounding areas.
Torch soldering: traditional method using a jeweler's torch. They should understand flame control, different solders (hard, medium, easy), heat distribution, and how to avoid overheating stones or metal.
Understanding of the complexity of working with high‑purity metals
High-purity metals like platinum, 18k gold and sometimes fine silver behave differently from lower alloys.
Attention to detail and high‑quality workmanship
Jewelry work is extremely small-scale and visible up close. This means the candidate must consistently produce clean, professional-quality results, such as:
Smooth solder seams
Even, tight stone settings
Polished finishes with no scratches or tool marks
Symmetrical shaping
Accurate measurements and alignment
Attention to detail is essential because even tiny flaws are noticeable to customers.
Reliability and professional work ethic
Showing up on time
Meeting deadlines
Working cleanly and safely at the bench
Communicating clearly with managers or coworkers
Handling expensive materials responsibly
Maintaining consistent work quality throughout the day
