Jewell School is a small private Farm School with a Christian worldview located on a citrus grove in Queen Creek. We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher to implement our hands-on project-based learning both indoors and outdoors for Kindergarten through 9th grade.

Responsibilities:

• Lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential, both academically and socially

• Implement a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of our diverse students

• Create weekly lesson plans that correlate with our curriculum and philosophies

• Monitor and assess student progress in order to provide feedback on a regular basis to students and parents

• Clear and effective verbal and written communication

• Must be organized and well-planned

• Maintain an indoor and outdoor classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the level, maturity and interests of the children

• Assist in the implementation of all school rules governing the development of proper student behaviors

• Develop and implement reasonable classroom rules of behavior and procedures in a fair and just manner

• Promote positivity and curiosity

• Maintain punctual and regular attendance

Requirements:

• Teaching certification or professional experience working with children

• Competence in math and science a plus

• Interest or experience in pedagogies such as Waldorf, Montessori, Acton, or Charlotte Mason a plus

• Strong references, fingerprint clearance and ability to pass a criminal and background check

• Ability and desire to work in a unique, innovative teaching environment while carrying out the responsibilities above
