    Job Description

    Jews for Jesus is urgently seeking for a full-time Donations/Finance Associate to join our Finance team in the San Francisco Headquarters Office.     SUMMARY OBJECTIVE:

    The mission of Jews for Jesus is “to make the Messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue to our Jewish people worldwide.” The Donations/Finance Associate is part of the Finance Department, and reports to the Finance Supervisor. The Finance Department is responsible for handling all monies received via mail or internet, paying all invoices and reimbursements, and preparing payroll for processing. The Donations/Finance Associate’s duties will focus primarily on serving as the first contact with all incoming donations.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Sort and open incoming mail on a daily basis
    • Scan donations received into database
    • Label donations according to their classification
    • Verify donations received
    • Identify and research donor discrepancies

    MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Assists in training new staff within the same job role
    • File documents in designated filing cabinets

    COMPETENCIES OR REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Positive attitude
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Able to work independently and effectively as part of a team
    • Good judgement and discretion regarding confidential and sensitive data
    • Proficiency in computer skills including Excel, the Internet, and data management
    • Comfortable working with numbers
    • Punctual and dependable
    • Eager to learn; curious and investigative by nature
    • Enthusiastic about Jewish evangelism
    • Some basic Excel knowledge
    • Useful but not required - Blackbaud CRM and/or Blackbaud Financial software

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

    • No Supervisor responsibilities required for this job

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Typical office environment. Routine use of the following:

    • Computers

    • Phones
    • Copiers

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands that are required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

    Examples:

    • Sitting for long periods of time working on a desktop computer
    • Lifting and moving boxes periodically
    • Walking and stair climbing to deliver items

    POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

    • Full-time
    • M-F 7:30am-4pm

    TRAVEL:

    • No travel required for this position

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma or GED

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • 2-3 years experience in a related field or College degree
    • Nonprofit organization gift processing experience a plus
