Job Description

Headquartered in Rancho Dominguez, California, we are a long established and successful designer and supplier of quality residential and commercial lighting products selling through multi-channels (retail stores, home centers, and online).  We sell under multiple brands, including our flagship retail brand Designers Fountain (www.designersfountain.com), and have been a leader in the lighting industry, focusing on technology, innovation and design.   We currently have an opening for a FINANCIAL ANALYST to assist our Controller. 

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

 1.       MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORTING

• Help prepare monthly financial statements and analyze variances.
• Prepare sales and margin reports by sales channel and product categories.  Analyze sales and margin variances.
• Reconcile sales and margin data to general ledger balances.
• Prepare promotional and advertising cost analyses.
• Analyze return rates by sales channel and product model.
• Prepare inventory reports and analyze turns and obsolescence.

2.       CASH FLOW ANALYSES

• Forecast borrowing requirements.

3.       ANNUAL BUSINESS PLAN

• Work with sales departments to prepare sales and margin budgets.
• Work with department managers to prepare department budgets.
• Design and maintain Excel models to consolidate sales, margin and expense budgets.

4.       BANKING ANALYSES

• Prepare compliance reports and other analyses.

5.       ANNUAL AUDIT

• Prepare audit schedules as requested by external auditors.

6.       OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare filings for personal property taxes, business licenses and Canada GST.
• Prepare customer margin analyses and analyze variances.
• Streamline operational processes and recommend cost savings.
• Complete ad hoc analysis, projects and assignments requested by the Controller.

JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

1. Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
2. Excellent data management skills.
3. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
4. Solid analytical abilities.
5. Bachelor’s degree and minimum two years of financial analysis or budgeting experience. 
6. Knowledge of ERP systems, especially Oracle EBS, is preferred.
